Because that’s what this image reminds me of when I see it! A clumsy kiss, some indecision mixed up with curiosity, you know… 😉 Anyway, Happy Valentine’s Day, wherever you are and whichever way you plan to celebrate it! 🙂
I took this photograph of Polar bears (Ursus maritimus) interacting in Canada’s Manitoba province, where every year many polar bears congregate in late Fall, waiting for the temperatures to drop so that the waters of the Hudson Bay freeze and the bears can venture out on the ice in search of their favorite food item – seals. More about this on a future post.

Thank you, and happy belated Valentine’s Day to you and Victoria, too, Anatoli! 🙂
Stefano and Francesca Happy Valentines Day! Lovely sweet photo too. Was it taken in Churchill? I have never been but I hear it is the place to see Polar Bears.
Hey Kimberly! Thank you and happy belated Valentine’s Day to you too! Yes, the image was taken in Churchill and yes, although there is a handful of other options for photographing polar bears, Churchill is one of the safest bets to do so. Quite an interesting place.
Wonderful capture! I hope you and Francesca have a great Valentines Day. 😀
Thank you very much, Jackie! Hope you had a happy Valentine’s Day too! 🙂

They really look like some giant plush toys, don’t they? 🙂 Thanks, Phil.

MUCH belated Happy Valentine’s Day! 😊
Gorgeous animals aren’t they? Churchill sounds most interesting, It’s a place often mentioned when I make a virtual trip to the North. We all look forward to more of your oustanding polar bear photos, dear Stefano.
Big hugs from the four of us
Dina
Thank you so much, dear Dina! Glad you liked the image. Churchill is definitely an interesting town/place to see and a great opportunity to photograph polar bears.
Lots of love to the Fabulous Four!
Stefano
What a thrill to get photos of these big guys. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest. It sounds like Churchill was kind to you.
Thank you, Lyle – and apologies for the late reply.
Churchill was interesting and certainly presented many cool photo opps. More about this later.
That is so sweet Stefano!!! Ah, I cannot believe that you’ve been close enough to polar bears for a photo. But that’s possibly just the Australian in me speaking, we have no bears (other than the incorrectly labeled koalas) in this country! Amazing photo. I hope that you and Francesca had a sweet valentine’s day my friend 🙂
Thank you so much, dear Laura: I would LOVE to photograph koalas and the other unbelievable wildlife you guys have Down Under! I really hope at some point I will be able to make it there and to neighboring New Zealand. It must be absolutely awesome…
Hope you are well, my friend. 🙂
